Should a home services app show the price before booking?

Yes, and it should show who is coming too. Here is how that one decision shaped the Domas signup and app.

Yes. If your app sends someone to a customer's home, show the price and the person before anyone shows up.

Domas & Co. is a home services membership in Florida. A member puts in the job, a background-checked pro takes it, and the member sees the pro, their company and the price before anyone shows up. They pay when it is done. Showing the price before anyone shows up decided most of the design.

Why the price goes first

Getting a home repair done usually means chasing quotes for days. Domas needed to make it as simple as ordering a ride, and to look trustworthy enough that a member lets a stranger into the house.

A member who does not know the price or the person has two reasons to close the app. Showing both before the booking removes those reasons at the moment they matter.

The signup asks three things

The member signup at member.joindomas.com is three steps: what the home needs, the address, and where to send the price. The page lists a typical price range for each kind of job, so the member has a number in front of them while they fill it in.

Pros sign up through their own funnel at pro.joindomas.com, so the two sides of the marketplace never share a form.

The app shows the range up front

In the Domas app for iPhone and Android, a member starts a request, picks the day and the window, and sees the price range up front. Once a pro takes the job it goes live with the assigned pro on screen. When the work is done, the member gets photos and a receipt.

If you are planning an app

Work out what your customer needs to know before they say yes, and put it on the first screens. For a service in someone's home, that is the price and the person. The rest of the app can be built around that order.

After launch

The app is live on the App Store and Google Play. Two weeks after the site launched, the joindomas.com home page was averaging position 2.4 in Google (Google Search Console, Sep 5 to Sep 21, 2026).

The full project, including the brand and the Florida city pages, is on the Domas work page.
